我叫Cindy来自上海，原毕业于华东政法大学经济法系，来英前从事多年法务工作。先生之前在中国的跨国公司做管理工作14年，他特别喜欢中国菜和中国文化。我们共同育有一个女儿，她在中国出生。现在我们随英籍先生回英国定居。

我们生活的社区多次被评为利兹最适合居住地区，小区闹中取静，环境宜人，出入市区极为方便。我和先生都喜欢园艺，家里有个大院子，院子里有孩子喜欢的蹦床、秋千、鱼池，还有我开垦的有机菜园子，目前为止收获颇丰。我们爱好徒步、旅游、欣赏音乐和看电影。如果您的孩子住在我家，我们会鼓励他们尽快融合到当地生活中来，多练习英语，并带领他们体验大自然和参加当地的各种节日活动。在我家饭桌上，一般不让使用手机和其他电子产品，我们希望吃饭时间大家其乐融融，交流谈心。我们也会安排丰富多彩的活动，如野餐、徒步、桌游等，让孩子不会过度被手机和社交软件吸引。

回到英国之后，我开始做寄宿家庭和监护老师，我监护过的孩子都与我的家庭相处融洽，得到家长们的好评。我自己一路走来非常幸运，得到了一些有爱又智慧的老师的帮助。 回顾过去，我很庆幸得到了这些老师的关爱，因此我也希望能够一直将这种恩惠回馈给别人。希望我和我的家人，可以对孩子们的留英学习和生活，带来帮助。

My name is Cindy and I am from Shanghai. I originally graduated from the East China University of Political Science and Law, majored in Economic Law. My husband has worked in China for 14 years in a senior management position and he likes Chinese food and Chinese culture very much. We had our daughter in China. We have now moved back to the UK with my British Husband and living in Leeds. Our community is rated The Best Place to Live in Leeds.

We enjoy a large garden with a trampoline, swings and a large pond. I especially like Chinese vegetables and have developed a large vegetable plot to grow fresh produce. My husband and I like to hike, travel, enjoy music and watch movies. If your child stays with us, we will encourage them to quickly integrate into ‘local life’, practice English, bring them to experience nature, participate in local festivals etc. At our table, it is generally not allowed to use mobile phones and electronic devices. We also arrange a variety of activities, such as picnics, walking, board games, etc., so that children are not so occupied by mobile phones and social media.

As a footnote, I would like to add that I consider myself to have been very fortunate through my educational years to have had the assistance of wise mentor. I look back and I am extremely grateful for that privilege and as such I have always wanted to be able to return that favour to others and give something back in return. I have been act as a host family and a guardian for Chinese students since I moved back to the UK and all the students are getting along well with my family. We have received a lot of thanks from Chinese parents. Hope we can continue to know new students and parents and provide the best we can to you and your children in the future.

我叫刘曦，来自河南郑州。从上海东华大学服装设计本科毕业后，我选择来到英国继续深造，在皇家霍洛威大学攻读了国际管理的硕士学位。

我曾经在不同的纺织品时尚品贸易公司任职。目前在做时尚产品的摄影及编辑，我的先生是个数据分析员。我们和两个小女儿住在大伦敦地区。家里养了一只德牧和两只猫，没事的时候喜欢给孩子们做点好吃的， 遛遛狗，种种花。

我已经做过几年的寄宿家庭，接待了不少国内来的学生。最大的体会是把孩子们真正看成自己家里的孩子照顾，真正为孩子着想，孩子就会跟你成为朋友。每次孩子们的到来都为我们的家庭带来了欢乐。他们都爱吃我做的饭菜，我很高兴。

留学对于年轻人来说是很好的人生体验和自我提升， 但是适应英国的生活需要时间和来自老师，监护人及住家的帮助。 有幸认识了这么多优秀的同学，我一定会尽我所能帮助他们在英国的求学生活圆满顺利。

I am Sheila Liu, came from Zhengzhou, Henan.

After obtaining my Bachelor’s degree of Fashion Design from Shanghai Dong Hua University, I came to the UK and studied in Royal Holloway University of London for Msc International Management.

Since then, I have worked in various textile/fashion trading companies, and currently working as a fashion photographer. My husband is a data analyst. We live in great London area with our two young daughters, a German shepherd dog, and two cats. In our spare time, we like to cook deli food for kids, walking our dog, planting flowers, etc.

Having been hosting numerous students in the recent few years, I deeply feel that as long as we treat students as our own family members, always think their needs, help them whenever they need us, they will become our friends. The stay of students always bring joys to our life. And I am very happy that they all like my cooking.

Studying abroad is precious experience for young people, while get used to a different country takes time and needs guidance. I have been so lucky to know so many excellent young man and ladies, and I will do my best to help them during their study and stay in the UK.
